Halls Young Artist Competition

Halls Young Artist Competition

The Halls Young Artist competition looks for the next generation of budding and creative artists to create crowd-pleasing and show-stopping artwork.

15/12/2023

This year’s theme is the Coronation of His Majesty, King Charles III, highlighting the monarch’s role in today’s society and a positive outlook towards the future which remains rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry.

Children in primary, secondary education and further education have been asked to create artworks on this Royal theme and, in doing so, they have the opportunity to win a cash prize for their schools funds as well as book tokens and Weston Park family passes for themselves. All mediums have been welcomed – from paintings and photography to woodwork, print making and sculpture. Judging day is Thursday 14th December and then presentations will be made to the winners in January.

All shortlisted entries are exhibited in The Rose Paterson Art Gallery during December 2023 and January 2024.

Weston Park is grateful to Halls Fine Art and to Arts Society Wrekin for their generous support of the competition and we’re grateful to every child and every school that participates in this exciting competition!

We’re also delighted to be showing Wrekin Stories – a collaborative school artwork made by Madeley Academy under the tutelage of artist Katherine Soutar with funding from Arts Society Wrekin, and also a knitted Coronation celebration produced by a group of ladies from Bridgnorth.
