Are Aberystwyth people sitting on a small fortune?

Fine art team has the answer!

Could people living in and around Aberystwyth unknowingly be sitting on a small fortune?
That’s the question a team of experts from Shrewsbury-based Halls Fine Art will be able to answer when they visit the seaside town to hold a charity antiques valuation day for local hospice at home charity HAHAV Ceredigion, on Friday, September 13 from 11am to 2pm.

06/09/2024

The event is being held at Morlan Centre, Queen’s Road, Aberystwyth SY23 2HH and all the proceeds will go to HAHAV Ceredigion. A fee of £2 will be charged for each item professionally valued by the team from Halls Fine Art.

The experts hunting hidden treasures are Maryanne Lineker-Mobberley, silver, jewellery and bijouterie specialist and Alexander Clement, watches, clocks and Asian art specialist and general valuer.

“It has been a few years since we last held a charity antiques valuation day in Aberystwyth, which has always been a happy hunting ground for Halls Fine Art,” said Maryanne. “We are all looking forward to returning to the town to raise money for such a great charity whilst also, hopefully, finding some hidden treasures.

“One of the joys for us, as professional valuers, is that we never know what we are going to see at these events.”

Maryanne Lineker-Mobberley and Alexander Clement from Halls Fine Art will be visiting Aberystwyth on September 13.

Halls Fine Art has recorded a series of successful results for people living along the Mid Wales coast this year, the highlight of which was a large collection of UK commemorative gold coins which sold for £19,000.

Anyone wishing to have collections or large antiques valued at the Aberystwyth event may take along photographs to show the specialists, who may arrange a follow up home visit.

Those who have antiques that they wish to be valued but are unable to attend the valuation event can contact the fine art team on Tel: 01743 450700. Visit https://fineart.hallsgb.com/ for more information.

HAHAV Ceredigion is a volunteer led charity, established in 2014 in response to almost overwhelming need for support for people with chronic, life-limiting illness, their carers and families. Ceredigion is the only county in Wales without a recognised hospice service.

Its founding service, Home-Support, is managed by a co-ordinator and delivered by a dedicated team of trained volunteers, reaching people across Ceredigion and prioritising those facing the final 12 months of life.

Living Well services provide activities supporting wellbeing and helping clients manage some of the challenging symptoms of chronic illness, such as pain, fatigue, and anxiety. Activities are free with refreshments available.

The charity also provides a free bereavement counselling service, which is accessible at any point in a person’s journey of grief. Support can be in person, online and over the telephone and is provided in Welsh or English.

All HAHAV’s services are free to access for adults living in Ceredigion and the charity accepts referrals from healthcare providers and other charities, as well as self-referrals.

HAHAV can be contacted via its website www.hahav.org.uk for those wishing to access services or support charity by donating, fundraising or volunteering.
