Halls' Specialists Maryanne Lineker-Mobberley and Alexander Clement will be providing valuations for jewellery, watches, silver and small, portable items at a charity cheese and wine event being organised by Lingen Davies Cancer Support next month.
22/05/2026
The fundraising event will be held at Shrewsbury Golf Club, Condover on Thursday, June 25 from 7pm and people attending will be able to have two items valued within the cost of their £20 ticket. Any additional items will be charged at £2 each.
People with large items of furniture or collections to be valued can take along photographs of them to show Maryanne Lineker-Mobberley, silver, jewellery and bijouterie specialist and Alexander Clement, watches, clocks, Asian Art and senior general valuer at Halls | The Auction House.
Maryanne said she and Alexander are looking forward to the event at Shrewsbury Golf Club and urged local people to bring along their portable treasures. They are happy to arrange home visits to value collections and valuable large items.
“Prices fluctuate with the markets and the last thing you want, in the event of an item being lost, is for it to be undervalued! Gold and silver jewellery and watches are specific examples of items that will have increase in value considerably.”
Angela Hill, a Lingen Davies Cancer Support community fundraiser and chairman of the charity’s Shrewsbury Fundraising Committee, thanked Halls Fine Art for agreeing to support the wine and cheese fundraiser and Shrewsbury Golf Club for hosting the event.
“We are delighted that the prestigious Halls | The Auction House team has generously dedicated their time and skills,” she said. “Not only will the evening show attendees the true value of their items, but it will also boost life-changing funds to help Lingen Davies continue supporting a growing number of local people affected by cancer – whether that’s the person with a diagnosis or their loved ones.
“We’re excited to see what treasures will be discovered at Shrewsbury Golf Club next month.”
Lingen Davies Cancer Support is fundraising for a £5 million Sunflower Appeal to establish a cancer centre with 30 chemotherapy bays at Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital by 2029.
Currently, patients from the Telford area must travel to the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, which also serves the Shrewsbury area and Mid Wales.
