We’ve been commissioned to sell a substantial painting collection, totalling over 400 lots, on behalf of Lloyds Bank Corporate.

The consignment will make up part of our latest Modern and Contemporary Art online auction, which starts on 17th January and runs through to the end of the month.

The Lloyds Bank Corporate collection features an extensively diverse range, featuring artists from across the British Isles, Europe and America, with highlights including significant groups of Northern British, Scottish and Irish names.

It’s very exciting to handle such a large single collection of paintings, especially one with such variety both in terms of subjects and style and this is one of the largest single owner collection of paintings that we have ever had, and it is very special in that it has such a huge variety of subjects - from watercolours of ancient stone circles in the Scottish Highlands, to the races at Henley on Thames, and the palaces of Versailles.

Manner of Edward Hopper (1882-1964), Bleak House, Oil on Canvas, Estimate £200-£300

“The sale also features landscapes of local interest within the Midlands, Cheshire and Wales, and very established artists of international renown such as Susan Ryder (British Contemporary), James Paterson (Scottish 1854-1932) and John Terris (Scottish, 1865-1914).

“It’s a great opportunity to buy listed, named artists at auction for very accessible starting prices. A great way to obtain some real investment pieces.”

The Lloyds paintings and the other artworks in the sale can be viewed at our saleroom between 19th-22nd January. Online bidding starts on 17th January and ends on 31st January.
