This quite frightening looking box of #instruments was taken in at our #Monday #valuation day at Halls Fine Art by our wonderful specialist #JoeTrinder. 

He knows what it is but do you?

**UPDATE** So to all of you who have been wondering....An early-mid 19th cased surgeon's amputation kit by Millikin & Lawley, possibly campaign, the hinged cover with a vacant inset brass escutcheon and locking cartouche, opening to reveal a seemingly complete suite of eight implements to include a graduating trio of long-bladed knives, each marked Arnold, London, a pair of cutting pliers marked Clark, a trepan drill with screwing handle, an amputation drill, etc., each with hatched grip wooden handles, the divisional case with a central maker's badge, 165 Strand, London, 6.5 cm high. 40 x 14.5. Up for auction in our Spring sale Wednesday 18th March with an estimate of £500 - £800
