Designer watches and two comprehensive canteens of silver cutlery are included in the entries for our Summer Pictures, Silver and Jewellery Auction in Shropshire.

Valued at £2,500 is an 18-carat gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual ladies’ wristwatch while two 18-carat gold Cartier ladies’ watches are expected to sell for between £800 and £1,500 at the company’s purpose-built Battlefield salerooms on June 21.

 A gentleman’s 19th century 18-carat gold fusee pocket watch by John Poole carries an estimate of £1,000 to £1,500.

In the silver section, a 171-piece German silver and gilt canteen of cutlery is expected to fetch between £1,500 and £2,500 while a 133-piece Goldsmiths and Silversmiths canteen carries an estimate of between £1,500 and £2,000.

 One of the potential stars of the auction is an Arts and Crafts shark skin box with silver mounts, which was made for Liberty and Co and is attributed to celebrated designer Archibald Knox.

Valued at around £3,000, the box has a silver handle with enamel work typical of Knox and was discovered in Hereford by Maryanne Lineker-Mobberley, Halls’ head of the silver and jewellery section. She believes the box was probably made to store cigarettes.

Consigned from a Pershore vendor are a Carrington and Co aquamarine necklace valued in excess of £3,000, a Murrle Bennett Arts and Crafts turquoise necklace valued at up to £1,500 and an aquamarine single stone cocktail ring valued at around £600.

Other lots include a three-stone sapphire and diamond ring at up to £5,000, a single stone two carat diamond ring at up to £5,000, a sapphire and diamond necklace at up to £900 and a sapphire and diamond crescent brooch at up to £700.
