A South Shropshire vendor has consigned an exhibition quality French mid-19th century gilt bronze figural mantel clock by E. Vittoz and cast by E. de Labroue valued at around £15,000 in the 10th September Auction. The auction also features 18 longcase clocks valued at up to £5,000 together with 50 various clocks and works of art.

The September auction includes part contents of a historic East Shropshire manor house, a quality collection of predominantly 17th century oak furniture, that was collected over the past 22 years by the owners who are now downsizing.

Senior auctioneer and valuer Andrew Beeston says the collection has “good patina”, includes an unusual panelled livery cupboard dating to 1682, which is valued at up to £6,000 and a late 17th century or early 18th century nine drawer Lancashire or Cheshire dresser valued at up to £7,000. Also included is a good collection of 17th century coffers and settles.

There will also be a selection of music boxes on offer, including a Victorian walnut polython and table top symphonium at up to £1,200 each.
