Royal Air Force - A photograph album, circa 1924/26, compiled when the RAF was based in Aden. Comprising twenty-four photographs, the majority captioned verso, 200 x 140mm.

Examples include a Bristol fighter with a maintenance crew, having prepared the aircraft for bombing operations. Other pictures show several aircraft (the 1926 plane crash, where FL/LT. Mason and Cole were killed, with Cole’s gravestone, stating he died on 19th February 1926, age 24.) and other Bristol/Vickers planes. There are six military groups, five harbour scenes, one showing a period Panther motorcycle, and buildings/pyramids.

Provenance: Gifted to the present vendor after the death of the original compiler, Leonard Reeves Boxall. Boxall is the tallest man standing in the group portrait with pith helmets. Leonard 'Len' Boxall was born on 9th April 1903 and enlisted as a boy with the RAF in 1919, service number 335217. His service records show he was based in Aden from 21st October 1921 - 26th January 1927.
