stamped with war department arrow and 'Y.C' to the forte of the blade together with various inspection markings, the scabbard further marked 189* 'Y / Mg / 172', single-edged and single fullered blade, full bowl guard with turned up edge and a cut-out Maltese Cross design, blade length 87cm, overall length 101cm
