Darren Hughes RCA (b.1970) is a Welsh contemporary artist from Bangor and has been described as one of the 'rising stars of Welsh painting'. He studied at the Falmouth School of Art and Design before going on to the Cyprus School of Art. He is best known for his dark, brooding Welsh landscapes. Hughes has exhibited alongside, and attracted the admiration of, Sir Kyffin Williams.
