Ethel King Martyn, 'The travellers companion', a fairy scene, etching, titled in pencil in the margin, initialled within the plate, drypoint, 15cm x 22.4cm (I)

Footnote:

Ethel King Martyn was a portrait painter and etcher of fairy subjects, being elected member of The Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers. She exhibited at the Royal Academy and some of her works, including a smaller example of this drypoint, are held by The British Museum (museum number:- 1930.0221.3). She studied at the Slade under Legros' tutellage and later was an illustrator for books such as 'Fables', by Robert Louis Stevenson, published in 1902. The British Museum entry states that this image was used for Hans Christian Anderson (dimensions 76mm x 150mm).

Generally ok. Some staining on the margin. Some small 2-3cm horizontal creases (possibly tears) lower left corner, above and below initials.
