Caughley powder-blue dish painted in the Scholar's Rock pattern

A Caughley powder-blue dish, painted in the Scholar’s Rock pattern (Holed or Flaming Rock), 1780 to 1785, of fluted form, decorated with a powder blue ground, reserves containing Buddhistic symbols and a large central, white, reserve with holed rock design, underside painted with four group of stylised trailing leaves and single blue line towards the foot rim, 22.5cm diameter (chipped)

Provenance: Cartwright Collection no. 311, purchased 2011 from a private seller.

Condition Report

Front rim chip at 2'clock and a further rim smaller chip at 1 o'clock to the reverse. Please see images.
