A late 18th-century flintlock blunderbuss pistol by Richardson, Manchester
with brass barrel and frame, with a spring bayonet released by a sliding trigger guard but lacking ramrod, with early Birmingham proof marks, 13 1/2" barrel with bell-mouth, the frame engraved with trophies of flags and swags and signed in script; with top thumb safety and bevelled walnut butt with shield-shaped silver escutcheon, 31cm long.
