Two French hand-woven tapestries, 19th century

Two French hand-woven tapestries, 19th century, the first of Aubusson type, worked with a central flower medallion within scroll and flower spandrels against a beige ground and with a turquoise linen fringe border, 177cm square, the second worked with a scene of a walled town beside a river viewed through leafy trees and bushes, within a formal foliate border, 160cm x 142cm. Condition Report

Aubusson type: consistent fading throughout. Some minor staining in places. Small hole/tare bottom left. Some tares to bottom and top edges at fringe border joins. Fringe edges frayed. General signs of age and use throughout.

Landscape: Consistent fading and loss of colour. General moderate ware and signs of age.
