A 19th century French ormolu and white marble mantle clock

A 19th century French ormolu and white marble mantle clock, the white enamel dial with black Arabic and blue Roman numerals, set in a highly decorative white marble case, adorned to the top with a central comport laden with fruits and foliage, flanked by a pair of recumbent classically modelled putti, the case front with further intricately worked mounts, raised on four inverted feet, enclosing an eight day striking movement, stamped 'Viner, Paris' to the back plate, on an associated white marble base and beneath a clear glass dome, complete with keys and pendulum, the clock measuring 39 cm high, 38 cm wide.

Sold alongside a valuation undertaken for insurance purposes by B. Trengrove, dated 17th January, 1973, describing and valuing the clock at £240.
