Richard Wood was born in London in 1950. After leaving school he worked in the Design Department at a Wood Mill before moving to Cornwall to work and study under artist John Miller (1931-2002) in 1974. He has always been drawn to the natural landscape and moved to Lancashire to explore this further, painting the rural scenery in Lancashire, The Lake District and Yorkshire
