A brass figure of horse in set with stones and small temple lion

William Francis Vere Kebbel (1888-1963) pastel on paper, still life study of a Japanese brass figure of a warrior on horseback, 31 x 25 cm, together with the figure captured in this work, a Meiji period Japanese brass figure, decorated throughout with inset cabochon stones, 23 x 20 cm (2).

Condition Report

The glass frame to the pastel is broken and needs repalcing.


The figure appears sound, cosmetic blemishes only, commensurate with age and historic polishing.
