A Chinese brass-bound hardwood and bowenite jewel box

A Chinese brass-bound hardwood and bowenite jewel box, of rectangular outline, the top with bat-form swing handle on an escutcheon formed from four bats around a shou symbol, the corners with bat-form brass spandrels, the twin doors inset with carved pale green bowenite panels opening to three lined drawers, above an external drawer with conforming bat handle flanked by bowenite ovals, the sides with further oval bowenite panels, 24cm high, 17.5cm wide.
