Provenance:

Purchased by the vendor's late uncle from Martin Hatfield, Darlington, in 2007 as a pair to another in this auction for £4,000, thence by descent.

Sold for £400


Condition Report

Oil on canvas, framed without glazing. Tension is good. Colours well preserved in general but some yellowing to the varnish over the sky. Visible craquelure on the rowing boat and around. See additional photographs. Light surface accretions. The frame's joints are sound and overall it is in good condition.
