Private Charles Stubbs, 38th Staffordshire Regiment of Foot, confirmed on medal rolls. Probably served with the 1st Battalion, which fought in the Peninsula from 1808-09 until after Corunna, at which point it returned home (although some men stayed to serve with the battalion detachment at Talavera).
