Footnote:

Charles Dixon was just 16 when he first exhibited at the RA and was elected RI (Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours) in 1900. He was an illustrator for periodicals, including The Graphic. A keen yachtsman he was a marine artist, specialising in shipping subjects and his most popular depict busy, contemporaneous Thames river scenes, such as this pair.

Condition Report

Unexamined out of frames,paper appears to be in good condition with no obvious rips, tears, folds. There is some minor foxing in the background of the Limehouse painting. The paint appears well preserved, minimal fading. The frames have evidence for general wear and tear, slight gaps in the joints.

Bidding indicates acceptance of the condition of the lot.  All lots are sold subject to general wear and tear commensurate with age and handling over time and only obvious faults will be mentioned after a visual inspection.
