A parian bust of John Milton, possibly Copeland
circa 1850, the bust formed on a circular pedestal labeled "MILTON," 40cm high (socle present but detatched, cracks to bust have been restored/stabilised)

The blind 17th century English poet John Milton was greatly admired in 19th century England and America. His bust was displayed in home libraries and parlors as a sign of the owner's culture.

Cracks overall to the bust, detached from base and broken, a large crack has been stabilised/in-filled
