Provenance:Acquired in the late 1800s by Guy Evers, English international rugby union forward, thence by descent to the vendor.
Footnote:Guy Evers (1874-1959) played as a forward for Moseley and was a player in the British Lions Tour of Australia in 1899. He was evidently well-travelled and acquired tribal works from Australia and Africa.
