A 17th century oak six plank coffer

A 17th century oak six plank coffer, the top with channel moulding and chip carving, the front with null carved frieze and chipped carved edges, raised on extended side timbers, 100cm wide x 38cm deep x 57cm high.

Condition Report

Significant signs of age and use throughout. Replaced and mis-matched hinges. Replaced lock. Front left corner of top chipped/nibbled with evidence of very old worm. Split to middle right end of top. Left side panel split and braced with ironwork. Front split through frieze from left edge in to lock. Structurally sturdy and sound. No evidence of recent or current worm.
