A 19th century inlaid oak painted dial longcase clock, faintly signed George Ellis, Oakengates, the swan neck pediment above an arched door flanked by fluted full columns, the trunk inlaid with a classical patera above a shaped cross-banded door with shell patera, flanked by fluted corner pilasters, the plain canted base box raised on bracket feet, the 14.25in dial with fruit spandrels, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds at 12, the arch painted with a rustic maid with rake in a landscape, the eight day movement with four knopped pillars striking on a bell, with two weights, pendulum and winder, 57cm wide x 27cm deep x 226cm high.

Condition Report
Not running but movement appears intact and reasonably clean. Missing hood finials. Some veneer lifting in places to hood. Old split to base box front timber. Scuffing and chipping to feet. Dial fair with some faint cracklure becoming more pronounced in places. Some wear to numerals and minutes track. Evidence of soldering/repair to hour hand.
