A near pair of Charles II oak side chairs or back stools, Derbyshire/South Yorkshire
The top rail with three arches having cusped edges, raised on slender turned spindles, the lower rail with carved moulding, the panel seat raised on block-and-baluster supports united by low level stretchers.

A very similar back stool was sold by Bonhams as part of The Beedham Collection, Chester, 24 May 2012, lot 46. To the underside of one seat can be seen the inscribed outline for intended carving, the timber then repurposed in this chair.

Condition Report
Both are sturdy and solid, and show typical blemishes and cosmetic marks consistent with age and use. Both show degrees of shrinkage to the joints. One has evidence of repair to the back at the side rail joint to the seat the other has a repair to
