Four late 19th century tiles

A pair of large square tiles painted by W.B Simpson & Sons, decorated in blue with a young boy and girl fishing beside a river and a girl scolding a boy, orange lined rims, 20.9cm impressed "Art Tile Painters / W.B Simpson & Sons' to reverse, 21cm square (a.f); together with a Minton and Hollins tile, transfer-printed in brown with a mother and two children before a cottage, 15.5cm square (small chips to edges) and an aesthetic movement tile, transfer-printed in green, 16.5cm square (4)

Condition Report

Girl scolding boy child - lower right-hand corner chipped, left-hand corner glaze grazed, 2.5cm section of restoration to the upper left edge.
Girl and boy fishing - reverse chip to right-hand upper edge, small front-facing chip to lower left-hand corner, 10cm long descending hairline crack running from near the upper left-hand corner.

Minton and Hollins tile - small chips to edges
Aesthetic tile - wearing to edges, small chip to lower right front-facing corner.
