A Coalport cabaret service, circa 1835, comprising teapot and cover, cream jug and twin-handled sucrier, with a tray, pattern 3/180, mock sevres-style mark, tray 40cm wide (crack to foot of tray)
Sold for £140
Condition Report
Tray - there is a firing crack to the base, which has extended into a hairline. There is also a small nibble on the edge of the foot.
Sucrier - there is a firing crack around the finial on the cover.
The teapot and sucrier both have crazing to the glaze with some very slight yellowing.
The end of the teapot spout is restored.
Interestingly, the cream jug and tray have green decoration under the glaze, but the teapot and sucrier have decoration over the glaze, in a slightly lighter shade of green. In our opinion, both types are Coalport. The overglaze pieces have some scratches to the green ground.
