An Enfield 1856 Pattern two-band short rifle-musket, manufactured by the Enfield Factory
percussion action, stamped '1857 / ENFIELD', 'CROWN / VR', crown over broad arrow acceptance mark to the lockplate and stock, barrel length 85.5cm, overall length 127cm, stock dated 1856, with brass plate and fore-end, brass trigger guard and steel ramrod; sold together with a Snider copper and brass powder flask with graduated measure, decorated to either side with a dog's head, and one further smaller James Dixon powder flask. (Enfield as found)
