Hockney found inspiration as a teenager in the writings of Greek-Egyptian poet Constantine Cavafy (1863-1933) and created a suite of thirteen very intimate etchings reflecting Cavafy's powerful reflections on homosexual desire.

Condition Report
The etching is a work on paper, framed under glazing, not examined external to the frame. The print has full margins, being numbered in pencil XII/XXV bottom left and signed with date bottom right. There are no obvious signs of any tears, folds or creasing to the paper. There is some ageing to the paper and foxing spots present throughout (please refer to additional images) The frame has general wear and tear including a loose joint top right.
