A William and Mary oyster veneered cabinet on a later stand

A William and Mary oyster veneered cabinet, the cyma recta cornice above a 'cushion' drawer and oyster veneered convex frieze, over a pair of doors, veneered with a flower-head design and enclosing a fully fitted interior with drawers and a central door, all oyster veneered, the door interiors veneered with a parterre-type design, the sides of the cabinet of figured walnut, each with an arched oyster veneered panel on a matching, later stand, restored, 108cm wide x 49cm deep x 184cm high

Early 20th century owned by the Lord Lieutenant of Dundee. Thence by descent.

Condition Report

Limited restorations about 5 years ago, including hinges and parting bead, some elements of mouldings and veneers.Some elements re-glued. Cleaned and waxed.

Minor damage, including hairline crack on right door and chips, dents and scratches consistent with age and use.
