A Copeland parian group after P.J Mene and one further parian group

A late 19th century Copeland Parian figure group of terriers rabbiting "Chasse Au Lapin", after PJ Mene, the three dogs raised on a shaped oval base impressed Copeland", length 33cm, height 16.5cm (a.f); together with a J&TB figural parian group of a woman with putti, on an oval moulded base (a.f)

A similar group to the Copeland example is illustrated in the Parian Phenomenon, a survey of Victorian Parian porcelain statuary and busts, edited by Paul Atterbury, published by Richard Dennis, page 178 (Illustrated).

Condition Report

Copeland - Tails broken, one present but detached (currently cellotaped to group). The boy standing at the broken has been completely broken, only part of a leg remains. Small knock to the base.

J&TB parian - Badly damaged.
