A 19th century Persian, khatamkari occasional table

A 19th century Persian, khatamkari occasional table, inlaid with mother-of-pearl, bone, a yellow metal (possibly gold) and rosewood, the hexagaonal top decorated with a central 6-pointed star surrounded by 6 hexagons, within fine diamond borders and on a fine geometric ground, within conforming multiple borders, the hexagonal base with each side inlaid with three similarly decorated rectangular panels above an Islamic arch, each corner with a bone, reel patttern edge, raised on veneered chamfered block feet, some minor losses, 41cm wide x 51cm high

Khatamkari work was popular with Nasiraldeen Shah, being a patron of the arts. Examples can be found in past International auctions and institutional collections.
