A good and rare 19th century Egyptian, architectural style, inlaid centre table,the square top inlaid with mother-of-pearl, bone, mahogany and rosewood, decorated with concentric 8-pointed stars within a series of geometric borders, above a plain frieze with an arch below on each side, the arches flanked by finely turned, square mashrabiyya panels, with turned pendants, on inlaid collared, turned supports, united by a galleried undertier in the shape of an 8-pointed star, raised on inlaid, buttress-form legs, 58.5cm wide x 71cm high

Footnote:The fine mashrabiyya panels, inlaid collars and legs are all hallmarks of a piece that would have been made for the higher echelons of Egypian society, or perhaps even for the Ottoman court.
