Two mid-brown patinated bronze sculptures of Irish Red Setters, second quarter 20th century, each standing proud on a rectangular variegated marble base (unsigned). 37.7cm and 37cm high overall (2) Provenance: The sculptures are named Irish Red Setters who were champions in their time. They formed the foundation of Mrs M Ogden-Borrowdale kennels in the late 1920s/early 1930s, the male Ch Menaifron Pat Omoi born 1927 bred by Edward Rae and was one of the most prolific Irish Red Setter champions. Was acquired by Mrs Ogden for her Borrowdale kennels the female Ch. Norna bred by Mrs Ingle-Belper (RHEOLA) in 1926 and sold to Mrs Ogden, she had six litters which contained seven challenge certificate winners and won eighteen championship certificates at champion shows herself. The sculptures are believed to have been commissioned by Mrs Ogden and have been inherited by descent through the family.
