A Dutch 1898/1911 klewang cutlass, blade stamped with maker Hembrug to the forte, opposed by a crowned W inspection mark, with a riveted two-piece grip, blade length 46cm, overall length 58cm, housed in a leather scabbard stamped 'OW N' / 9 39'; as used by Dutch and Japanese naval forces.
