A Japanese cloisonne box and cover by Hayashi Kodenji (1831-1915)
Meiji era, late 19th century
Of rectangular outline, worked in silver and gold wire with a scene of Mount Fuji with a boat in the foreground, within a ruyi flower border, the sides with fanciful birds amid dense foliage and flowers, seal mark of Kodeji to the underside.

An identical scene to that on the present lot in the form of a plaque by Kodenji was sold at Austin Auction Gallery, February 2021, lot 1440, and for another comparative example see Christie's, 29 March 1994, lot 210.
