A George III flintlock pistol by Twigg, London
circa 1780
with a 4.5cm turn-off brass barrel, engraved lock-plate and trigger guard, slab walnut grip, proof marks to the barrel,
overall length 17cm

Sold as an exempt item under Section 58 (2) of the 1968 Firearms Act, to be held as a curiosity or ornament.

Sold for £320


Condition Report
Action is in working order, though missing the flint. The grip is lifting from the frame with some obvious gaps of separation, there is also a crack to the top of the grip. There are several dings and dents to the barrel and some scoring to the underside to the left of the trigger guard. Some loss of finish and general discolouration to action and guard and some pitting to tip of barrel
