Two German porcelain salts

Two German porcelain salts, 19th century
comprising a double-salt with central cherub-like figure flanked by two oval bowls painted in red en camaieu in with figures and sailing boats to the interior and with insects and flowers to the exterior, set on a turquoise and gilt scrolling base, blue underglaze crossed swords mark, 12.5cm high
and a Sitzendorf porcelain salt, modelled as a young girl clad in pale pink robes clutching a seashell, seated upon an oval naturalistic base, underglaze blue factory mark, 10.5cm high (2)

Condition Report

Meissen-style salt: Restoration to clothes of the figure and the figure has also has been re-attached to the base. Only remnants of the original gilding now remaining to the border of the oval salts.


Female salt with no damages or restoration.
