Meiji period

Of cylindrical form and decorated with gilt lacquer and inlaid mother-of-pearl with a continuous scene of birds amid flowering wisteria, chrysanthemum and other plants, the rim with a silver filigree mount.

Rim mount loose. Gilt rubbed in places. No obvious losses to inlay.
