Approximately 190 photographs and postcards, some of which are hand-captioned and dated. The album includes King George V inspecting ships and officers at Rothesay, 1920 alongside British warships Queen Elizabeth, Revenge, Valiant, Cumberland, Agamemnon (on which the Turkish delegation signed the 1918 Armistice), half-submerged Hindenburg at Scapa Flow, 1923, and HMS Barham (later sunk by a U-boat in 1941 with the loss of two-thirds of her crew).

Warships are shown at Gibraltar and Grand Harbour, Malta, the location of a large combined military and naval operation in 1925. Further photographs include Valiant being loaded with vehicles and munitions, use of smoke screens and ships firing at sea. One ship notice offers a 6d bounty per rat’s tail as part of a pest-control “Rats Week”. Also photos of cars and motorcycles of the period and sights in Nevis, Spain, Corfu together with a number of personal photographs. Includes small quantity notepaper from Valiant and naval message forms, unused.
