Provenance:

Acquired in China prior to 1980, thence by descent to the vendor.

Footnote:

Titled to the outside of the scroll 'Authentic Relic Song Zhao's Thousand Miles of Landscape.' Zhao Boju (1120-1182) was an artist of the Southern Song Dynasty, painting landscapes as well as flower and bird studies. Although no works by the artist are known to have survived, his style was much admired and reproduced during the Qing Dynasty.

Painting is generally good with some signs of age including crease markings. Laid on a later paper scroll backing.
