A small group of Worcester in the 'Scarlet Gold and Japan' pattern, circa 1770-80, comprising an ogee chocolate or breakfast cup, 7.2cm high; a slop or waste bowl, 12.5cm high and a milk jug, 8cm high (3)
Although catalogued as Worcester, it is worth considering a Caughley 'Rose Festoons' teapot in the Caughley Bicentenary Exhibition, no. 518, which shares the same rare handle shape as the jug. The paste is also somewhat creamier than expected on Worcester. However, the cup has an atypical glassy glaze and spitting on the foot rim, which suggests possible re-decoration, perhaps at Chamberlain's.
