Footnote:Edmund Morison Wimperis (1835-1900) was a British wood engraver and watercolour painter born in Chester. He was apprenticed to a wood engraver who trained under Myles Birket Foster and Mason Jackson. He began painting professionally in watercolours from his late thirties, joining and then becoming elected Vice Principal of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours. He often painted with friend Thomas Collier and is best known for his landscapes.
