A rare and early Caughley porcelain 'Stalked Fruit' coffee pot and cover
circa 1775-78
transfer-printed in underglaze blue, featuring a stalked apple and supplementary sprigs, of plain baluster form with a double indented strap loop handle with a kicked terminal and thumb grip, the cover with a 'flame' knop, the unglazed dry base marked 'S', 19cm high

Condition Report

A chip and associated crack descending from the rim has been restored, with surrounding overpainting to colour match affecting a larger portion of the area, and one blue sprig has been repainted. This restoration is now slightly yellowed and flaking in areas. The condition with otherwise good with no further damages or repairs. The spout has not been off but there is just one large strainer hole to the interior.

The height of the pot without cover is 15cm. The internal diameter of the cover is 5.7cm
