A Caughley cup, circa 1775-80, of half fluted ogee form, with ear-shaped handle, transfer-printed in underglaze blue with the Fenced Garden pattern, painted S mark, 6.5cm high, together with a further Caughley coffee cup, of fluted form, having double indented loop handle, painted in underglaze blue with the Gillyflower pattern, with supplementary floral sprigs and associated cell diaper border, C mark, 7cm high (2) See CBE catalogue, no.149 for a coffee cup in the same Gillyflower pattern, also demonstrating the same distinctive fluted, barrel form as the example in this lot.
