A rare set of ten First World War German puzzle postcards
each individually numbered 1-10, the ten colour lithograph cards showing captioned representations of combat situations, the set ultimately combining to form a trumpeter wearing an Iron Cross, with printed inscription 'Weltkrieg 1914/15' within a Christmas or New Year laurel wreath tied with a bow in German national colours.
Each card is used, written in a single hand in pencil by Kurt Wunderlich, a soldier of the 1st Kompanie 12th Jäger 32nd (Infantry) Division, possibly 12th Artillery Column. They are further stamped with black circular Feldpostampt Des XII (1.K.S) Armeekorps black circular postmarks dating from 7th November 1915 - 12th November 1915. The cards are all addressed to various members of the same family, including Paul, Rudolf and Anna Wunderlich; presumably relations of the writer.
