Private John Williams, no. 780, confirmed on rolls. Born Staffordshire c.1811. Enlisted 1830 aged 19, served Ionian Islands and East Indies. Total service 17 years 327 days; discharged unfit for service 1848. Noted for absence without leave and habitual drunkenness despite overall good conduct.
