A Chinese enamelled silver figure of a phoenix bird

Late Qing/Republic Period

Modelled standing with wings upswept, the long tail feathers curling around, all worked in silver and filigree with enamels to the plumage, the tail tips inset with turquoise stones, set on a hardwood stand.

Condition Report

Evidence of wings being restuck. Remnants of gilt on the surface suggestive of parcel gilt decoration, now mostly worn.
