Rear-Admiral Tufton Percy Hamilton Beamish (1874-1951) British Rear-Admiral, Flag Captain and Commanding Officer of H.M.S "Invincible" during the Falkland Islands action on 8th December 1914 and Captain of H.M.S "Cordelia" at the Battle of Jutland, 1916.
a large, signed portrait photograph by Vandyk of London of Beamish, standing in a formal three-quarter pose in Naval dress uniform, signed in a bold black ink to the lower right-hand corner, further inscribed in his hand with details of his service to the photographer's mount, sold together with the original Van Dyke presentation folder named to Beamish,

Notes: At the Battle of the Falkland Islands on 8 December, Invincible and her sister ship Inflexible sank the German armoured cruisers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, while the remainder of the German squadron (bar the light cruiser Dresden), was destroyed by the rest of the British squadron. While commanding Cordelia, Beamish was present at the Battle of Jutland on 31 May 1916, for which he was commended for his services following a recommendation in the despatches of Admiral Sir John R. Jellicoe, Commander-in-Chief of the Grand Fleet at Jutland.
